Would you pick a peace lily or Pothos for your aquarium if you had to choose?
When i visit gatlinburg, i tell my wife look at the moss. Get some of the moss for shrimp tanks. She laughs
Great idea ❤️ from Pakistan 🇵🇰
I have lipstick plant, bromeliad Guzman pups, Chinese red aglaonema, monstera that was dried out brown n abandoned, monstera deliciousa, palm plant, tiny fritonia, pothos, luck bamboo, tradescantia, n a couple others. Idk if all of these would work. But my question is, what do u use as an aquarium cover? I just put together a few sections of polycarbonate pieces running front to back w polycarbonate stick on hinges, , I can move them over or remove 1 set (of 2 panels), would I need a left to right support beam of some kind? Sorry lots of questions I'm glad I ran across this video! I'll check out ur other videos! Thanks for this!!!
Awesome! Glad you found the channel! This video might help you with the lid. How to: 🪴🐟DIY Riparium Tank Lid for Any Size Tank!🪴🐟 ua-cam.com/video/u2qGVGzbyI0/v-deo.html
@@plantlifeproject hi! I wish id bought that type of polycarbonate! I bought the clear single layered 1/4in thick polycarbonate from Amazon. I'd bought a different size before n boy it's hard to cut w a jigsaw. So this time instead of a 12in x 36in for my 20L tank, I bought 4 panels at 8in x 24in for my 40L, then bought 6 sticky polycarbonate hinges. 2 panels I stuck together side by side w 3 hinges n did this twice. Like I=I I=I so the center isn't hinged. N I didn't cut it down to the 18in depth, left it at 24in cuz there no way 😅 so they just lay across the top of the tank. N I can't access the back of the stand so I have 2 HOB (aqueon 30 & 50) on either side n for the moment I also have 2 sponge filters. May be overkill but I have a very well fed poops alot fancy ryukin! Right now I have some otocinclus cleaning the tank n there's some neon tetras. But I'm gonna have to move the tetras cuz my ryukin accidentally got a fish head in his mouth when it was feeding time haha😅 they ran into eachother. They both turned n ran into eachother 😂. Anyway sorry this is so long n thank u for the help!!
Oh the 40L I just got beginning June n had to do a fish in cycling. Didn't think Id be moving end of april (before that I had the 20L setup) (didn't know what parameters or cycling was prior to june) in the old apt but started losing fish. I was also told I could have my ryukin w neon tetras and mollies in the tank together! I did by a 10g too cuz the mollies were nipping the other fish. But cuz of all the stress (bought all fish in april) 1 ryukin n 3 mollies died so I found a gal who would take the last 2 mollies. I do want to setup the 20L for the tetras n some guppies, but I have to figure out space in my new apt. I'm in a wheelchair so I have to have room to move about n my living rm is smaller than my last, but gained a 2nd bdrm for my adult child haha
Hey, I just setup a fish tank & I made a video "Trying Another Fish Tank - Thank you @bioaquatix9097 for the fish and Thank you @plantlifeproject" to thank you for the breeder box idea - although, I have not tried it yet...

I wish I could post pictures, however my tank has been going for about 3 months. People have mixed views, some say to let it go and reach its balance, some say you have to get in and touch, clean and even use stability and stuff like that. I’ve very new to this, but my tank always gets the green algae on the glass, I have felt with the “blue green slime”, and even have some mold growing on some of the structures and even sand I have in the tank. I don’t have an ammonia reader at the moment, mine stopped working and I haven’t gotten a new one yet. ANY tips will be greatly appreciated.
Check out the PlantLife Project Group on Facebook, you can share your pics. myself and others will give you some feedback and help how we can!

I stumbled upon one of your videos and now I’m hooked. Your interpretation and curiosity has definitely been helpful along with being insightful. The idea you have about developing a business with established plants specifically for aquariums is awesome. I can hardly wait to see how far you take . Thank you for sharing your story with us and I appreciate how passionate you are.
So kind of you! Thanks!
This worked great! Thank you!
No problem, Anytime!
I’ve been growing out aquatic plants as well.. I find sand and gravel hinder the plants more than anything.. I’ve had the best results with aqua soil.. from watching your video I’m considering mixing in some kitty litter to off set the price of Aqua soil
Mixing the two works great, I do it often in aquariums
Ohhhhhh moloy 😂
Beautiful plants! I love that neon green golden goddess one you mentioned.
Awesome video this was exactly what I was looking for to see the plants
Glad I could help!
Great idea!
Hello Sir, I'm new to your channel and you've fascinated me with the simplicity and beauty of those rypariums. Could you explain a bit better how you hanged those plants?

Yes, it will work if you give them enough light, and I think you will. Everything looks great. Wishing you the best with sales.
Fingers crossed!
I’m sold out of umbrella sedge, so that’s a start!
I have been wanting to try this plant out in my little ponds. I have seen it growing in ditches in Louisiana. I need to go dig some up soon.
Go for it!
Thank you!
Nice plant 🪴 👌 👍
Very informative 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Now, to figure out where I can get some of this! Also, do you know if this plant is 50 state legal? I know some states have rules against invasive plants.
Well, I did mention that I’m selling it. Check with your state government to make sure it’s ok to purchase
Your little container ponds are looking fantastic!
Thanks!
Beautiful plant❤🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
I just came home yeaterday with some sedge
I know this is an older video but do you feel like more light was needed to get the aquarium plants to grow? I added 1 submersible light and 2 aquarium lights, one is a hygger. Knock on wood fully planted Aquarium 4 months running. I also have 11 plant types in the riparium with 2 lights going on 3
Yes I have been using one light for riparian plants and another for the aquarium plants which has worked very well. My newer videos on this tank show the results.
It just came to me on the lined whiskey barrell. I'm going to try usine big S hooks. If you have another idea that would be great.
Yes, plastic or rubber coated s hooks are great
Do you have issues with fish jumping out of the open-top sides of your tanks? I dream of having a peace lily/cat palm combo growing out of my tank, but I am so paranoid😰
I have not had any problems with jumping fish. It just depends on the fish species you’re keeping I think.
I have been playing with mini ponds for a couple of years now. I have three big ponds, one natural and two smaller ones with liners and several half whiskey barrels''. You know how it is, if one is good 7 is better. The half whisky barrels i lined with rigid plastic liner from the big box store. I love the zip tie idea for elevating the pots! Any thoughts on how to do that with my lined barrels'? Love your work and will look forward to more videos!
Awesome! There are a variety of hooks that can be used, check out my more recent pond videos where I showed the ones I used. Also rubber coated gear ties work great too.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
That breeder box might be just what I need. I want a planter 'in' the tank. I could turn the breeder box around and drill holes in the bottom for the roots.
That is definitely worth trying!
I grow fittonia in aquarium only from cuttings
On my first aquarium I was dead set on not having plants because in my mind that meant more maintenance. I later learned the answer to 90% of my issues and doing less maintenance was plants.
plants rock, man!
I’m growing this in a few of my aquariums they are growing well thanks for another great video ❤🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

@@plantlifeproject I totally bought that calocasia bulb on Etsy let's hope it comes in From India. Idk how you can mail tubers like that... Let's hope you try calocasia as well so I can compare my journey with it to yours
Love this plant but it seems to grow a bit too large for me. I’ll try it anyway! 😂
Good info. I want to use plants to help filter a bait tank. And not run so much electronics.
I just ordered this for my tank 3 days ago, perfect timing.
Sweet! Let me know how it grows!
@@plantlifeprojectBeen in aquarium 2 weeks now, growing well. I just grow with roots in water, so far so good.
Great video. Great riparium plant. I grow umbrella sedge for many years in my riparium, combined with a plenum gravel filter (custom home made). The moment it is establishing (after the second sprout), the growth is continuous and vigorous. It is not spreading too fast outwards from the main column, but it's root system will be all over in the aquarium/riparium substrate. It will not come out from the substrate, it tries to go as deep as it can. But, even if the roots would be exposed, they have a reddish coloring, which is very pretty and gives a natural aquatic appearance. Overall, great riparium plant, beginner friendly and good biological filter. My next try will be with Schoenoplectus lacustris (lakeshore bulrush), because Phragmites australis (common reed) is way too aggressive in shoots and sprouting (need to be contained). 🙂
